It is with sadness that we report the death of David Brown, former player with Glasgow High RFC.

David was one of a hugely talented group of players, including Roddy Grant and the late David Gilmore, who were all part of a very successful High School of Glasgow team in the early 1970’s who all went straight into the senior 1st XV at Glasgow High RFC.

David went on to play for Glasgow at senior level and, when his career took him away from Glasgow he became a leading figure at Strathmore RFC.

We have now received details of the funeral service for David, courtesy of Strathmore Rugby Club’s website. They are as below:

Dave’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 31st December at Hillside Parish Church, Montrose at 11:00 a.m.
Then Friockheim Crematorium at 12:30 p.m.
After which Sheila, Nicole & Lindsay invite you to the Colliston Inn for refreshments.

All are welcome, but family flowers only please. Donations can be made and will go to Strathmore Rugby Club Community Trust, of which Dave was an active Trustee, and to Ward 32, Oncology, Ninewells Hospital Dundee.
